Emergency First Responder

This course will consist of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Bleeding Control. In one day, participants will receive The American Heart Association BLS and Bleeding Control Certificate.

This course will cover the standard Bleeding Control content with additional instruction on managing wounds such as:
• Head Lacerations
• Gun shot wounds to the neck and chest
• Protruding objects
• Bandaging

• High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
• The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
• Use of an AED
• Effective ventilations using a barrier device
• Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
• Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
